Walkthrough
- 1Level 1: Examine - Use this ability to check a single enemy's HP, MP, elemental weakness, and family. After scanning, you can press left on the Circle Pad to view enemy information on the bottom screen. Selecting the enemy on the bottom screen reveals additional stats like Attack, Defense, and Speed. This is crucial for tracking boss HP and identifying weaknesses.
- 2Level 2: Treat - Restores one character's HP by 20%. This can be used even if the character is affected by Silence. While useful for free healing and in emergencies, it becomes less significant later in the game.
- 3Level 3: Divining Rod - Displays the number of unopened treasure chests in a dungeon on the bottom screen. This helps ensure you don't miss any loot.
- 4Level 4: Dungeon Master - Grants immunity to damage and status ailments from traps, dangerous terrain, and other dungeon devices for all allies. This ability is essential for safe and efficient dungeon exploration.
- 5Level 5: Mislead - Lowers the user's chance of being targeted by enemies to the minimum. This is useful for protecting low-HP characters from single-targeting moves, though it doesn't guarantee immunity.
- 6Level 6: Prayer - Makes the character's chance-based abilities 1.5 times more likely to succeed for 10 turns. This is particularly effective when used before Thief's stealing abilities.
- 7Level 7: MP 10% Up - Increases the character's MP by 10%. For example, 100 MP becomes 110 MP.
- 8Level 8: Endure - Raises the character's Physical Defense and Magic Defense by 25% for four turns. This is a reliable buff, especially when a Performer is unavailable.
- 9Level 9: Poison Immunity - Grants immunity to the Poison status ailment. While Poison is generally weak, this ability can be vital against later bosses that punish poisoned characters.
- 10Level 10: JP Up - Your character earns 1.2 times the normal amount of JP from battles. This helps speed up JP gain, especially before acquiring the Growth Egg which doubles JP gain.
- 11Level 11: Flee - Guarantees an escape from battle, though it does not work against bosses or certain enemies. This is an excellent way to escape dangerous encounters quickly.
- 12Level 12: Lure Enemy - Doubles the enemy encounter rate. This does not stack with other characters using the same ability and is useful for grinding, though the encounter rate can also be adjusted in the Config menu.
- 13Level 13: Stand Ground - Gives your character a 75% chance of surviving an attack that would reduce their HP to 0, leaving them with 1 HP instead. This requires the character to have more than 1 HP to begin with and acts as a safeguard during difficult battles.
- 14Level 14: Mimic - Allows the character to perform the last command used by an ally or themselves without spending MP, BP, money, or items. This enables the repeated use of costly abilities.
