Learn how to defeat the Dark Knight Alternis Dim in Bravely Default. This guide covers his stats, weaknesses, and effective strategies to overcome his powerful attacks.

Stats / Weaknesses:

• Level: 45
• HP: 100,000
• Weak to: Nothing

Phases:

1. Phase 1 (Full HP to Half HP): Alternis uses Black Bane (dark damage to party) and Dark Bane (dark damage to single target). These attacks consume some of his HP.
2. Phase 2 (Below Half HP): Alternis begins using Minus Strike, a guaranteed KO attack.

Strategy:

• Defense: Use the Spiritmaster's Adaptation to absorb or nullify dark attacks. The Dark Shield from Everlast Tower can also nullify dark damage, ideal for healers. For physical attacks, a Swordmaster can use Nothing Ventured or Know Thine Enemy (though Know Thine Enemy doesn't work against Black Bane). The Templar's Rampart can protect each character from one hit if taking heavy damage.
• Evasion & Counter: Ninjas can use Utsusemi to evade attacks and then counter with Transience. Red Mages can use Turn Tables.
• Healing: A Salve-maker ready with a Phoenix Down and Potion compound is crucial for reviving fallen party members after Minus Strike.
• Crowd Control (Optional): The Ninja's Kairai can be used to make Alternis target someone protected by Utsusemi or Rampart.
