Defeat Belphegor Lv.80 and Lv.20 in bravely default. Learn its elemental weaknesses, counter Sloth, and deal with its Spheres.

Lv.80 Belphegor Strategy:

Belphegor utilizes the ultimate Fire, Water, and Lightning spells: Firaja, Blizzaja, and Thundaja, along with Diffusion Ray. You can teach your Vampire job these -aja spells by having it learn them from Belphegor to use against it.

Belphegor can cast Sloth, making your party vulnerable to all elements, even if they normally absorb or are immune to them. To counter this, bring a Spiritmaster to use Greater Spirit Ward or Enigma to reverse the elemental weaknesses. Alternatively, a Black Mage with Group-Cast All and a White Magic user with Dispel can remove these weaknesses in a single turn.

Belphegor also summons three Spheres, each with 10,000 HP. These Spheres use the same damage rules as Belphegor, requiring you to cycle elemental attacks. They can also cast Firaja, Blizzaja, and Thundaja. Focus your strongest group-hitting attacks on the Spheres to defeat them quickly. If left alive, the Spheres will eventually use Self-Destruct, which K.O.s the Sphere and inflicts heavy damage to your party.

Easy Way Out (Lv.80):

If Belphegor is proving difficult, you can use the Stillness and Hasten World strategy. Each turn, your spell-casters should use three spells that exploit Belphegor’s weakness, plus another move that deals no damage (like a buff). Your Stillness user should use Stillness and a move that costs no BP and deals no damage. Set the game to Auto-Battle. Ensure your Stillness user is significantly faster than Belphegor, and your attackers are faster than the Stillness user.

Lv.20 Belphegor Strategy:

This version of Belphegor has 15,000 HP and is weak to Fire, Water, or Lightning, while absorbing all other elements. It loses Blizzaja and Thundaja but gains the Hammer attack, which targets a single character. It still summons Spheres, but these Spheres will only use Body Slam against a single party member, rather than casting spells.

Tips
  • Consider teaching your Vampire job Firaja, Blizzaja, and Thundaja from Belphegor to use against it.
  • A Spiritmaster with Greater Spirit Ward or Enigma can counter Belphegor's Sloth.
  • Alternatively, a Black Mage with Group-Cast All and a White Magic user with Dispel can remove elemental weaknesses.
  • Focus on defeating Belphegor's Spheres quickly, as they have 10,000 HP and can cast powerful spells or use Self-Destruct.
  • For the Lv.20 version, exploit its elemental weaknesses (Fire, Water, Lightning) and be aware of its Hammer attack.
  • The Stillness and Hasten World strategy is effective for both versions if your party is fast enough.
