    Head to the shore of the large lava lake and find two unlit beacons.

    Guide a li'l cinder across the beacons to light them.

    A Launch Star will spawn; use it to reach the next section.

    On the Thwomp Planet, carefully make your way along the path, avoiding thwomps and comets. Use the alcove beneath the third thwomp to hide.

    Use the Launch Star at the end of the Thwomp Planet to proceed.

    On the holey platform, collect five Launch Star chips. One is to the right, another is in a wooden crate behind fire jets, and the remaining three are on the upper half of the platform.

    A Launch Star will appear in the upper half; use it to reach the next section.

    On the next planet, find a Bullet Bill blaster at the end.

    Lead the Bullet Bill back to the top of the planet to smash the cage blocking the Launch Star.

    During this dash, spin attack or avoid li'l cinders and dodge stone wall obstacles.

    Use the Launch Star to reach the final section.

    Jump onto the Star Ball and use motion controls (tilt console/controllers) to move it across lava platforms. Press A/B to jump. Tilt controller/console inwards to brake.

    For a shortcut, build speed and jump to the stone platform with the 1-up Mushroom.

    Continue north towards the rotating lava cylinder. Speed up when the path is clear and slow down to wait for paths between holes.

    At the end of the cylinder, wait for the larger moving lava platform and jump onto it.

    Roll the Star Ball into the hole in the final platform.

    Collect the Power Star from the top of the flag pole.

  • Use the alcove beneath the third thwomp on Thwomp Planet to hide from being squashed.
  • When navigating the rotating lava cylinder, it's advised to slow down and wait for clear paths between holes rather than jumping over them.
  • Wait for the larger moving lava platform before jumping onto it in the final section.
