Alright, let's tackle the Spooky Speedster in Boo's Boneyard Galaxy! This is a fun little race, and you'll find it outside the main Gate dome. Just a heads-up, to even get to this galaxy, you'll need to feed a Hungry Luma 1,200 Star Bits. That Luma only shows up after you've finished Luigi and the Haunted Mansion and Gateway’s Purple Coins, so make sure those are done first.

Walkthrough

First things first, head up and over the big skull in the starting area. You'll see an orange warp pipe – jump in!

Once you pop out, walk down the ramp and grab the Boo Mushroom. This is key, as it turns you into Boo Mario! Remember, as Boo Mario, you can press A/B to fly a bit higher and, super importantly, press Y or shake the Right Joy-con to become invisible and float through walls.

To get going in the race, you'll need to use that invisibility to float right through the wall ahead of you.

Keep going, and you'll soon find the Spooky Speedster, who you might remember from A Very Spooky Sprint. This time, you're racing him as Ghost Mario!

The race itself is pretty straightforward. You'll start by heading downwards. Using your invisibility seems to give a little speed boost, so try to use it whenever you can. There are also some shortcuts blocked by walls, which could be handy if you want to shave off time on future runs, but you don't strictly need them to win this first time. This guide will stick to the main path, but feel free to experiment later!

After heading down, follow the path to the right. You'll encounter some fans that give you a big boost. Make sure to activate them by flying through their Golden ? Coin.

As you're using the second fan, be careful not to bump into the springy enemy, Banekiti. It won't hurt you, but it will definitely slow you down if you hit it.

Continue down the race route, weaving between the concrete blocks.

Next up, you have a choice: you can either navigate through the spinning bones, or you can head to the right and use another fan for a boost.

If you choose the fan route, be ready to quickly go invisible near the bottom of this section. There's a wall that can really slow your momentum if you hit it head-on.

In the final stretch, it's a narrow passage. Just focus on avoiding the walls by either steering around them or going invisible through them.
