Walkthrough

    From the start of the Hazy Maze, take the right path to the Work Elevator area and find the wooden door.

    Enter the toxic maze, go straight, and put on the Metal Cap.

    Run around the corner, ignore the ledge with the Blue Coin Block, and continue on the path to your left.

    Pass the lone Monty Mole and head towards the metal door in the alcove ahead.

    Jump up to the metal door and enter the small hallway with two Swoops and an elevator.

    Ride the elevator to the area above the Black Hole area, where you'll see red grating overhead.

    Cling onto the grating, holding the jump button down to avoid falling.

    Choose one of the two paths: one leads to a platform with a yellow box (containing a 1-Up), and the other leads to the star.

    If you took the path to the yellow box, perform a Long Jump from that platform to the platform with the star.

Alternate Method (Black Hole Area):

  1. From the beginning of the stage, go down the left path and enter the Black Hole area.
  2. Take care of the Scuttle Bug immediately upon entering, and ignore the nearby Swoop.
  3. In first-person mode, locate the platform above you with the yellow box.
  4. Wall Jump to reach this ledge, aiming just to the left of the first light on the wall. A Side Somersault or Double Jump is sufficient.
  5. Once on the ledge, Long Jump to the platform with the star.
Tips
  • Make sure to keep the jump button held down while climbing the grating to prevent falling.
  • The yellow box contains a 1-Up.
