Learn how to achieve the Truce achievement in Kingdom Come: Deliverance II. This guide details the Frogs and Mice questline and the steps needed to broker peace.

Walkthrough
  1. 1
Talk to either Old Olbram of Zhelejov or Innkeeper Prochek of Tachov and agree to prank the other village. This will start either the Frogs quest (for Olbram) or the Mice quest (for Prochek).
  2. 2
Complete both the Frogs and Mice quests. Ensure you do not get caught, engage in violence, or reveal your actions to the other village leader, as failing these quests will prevent progress.
  3. 3
After completing both quests, speak to either Old Olbram or Innkeeper Prochek again to begin the quest Battle of the Frogs and Mice.
  4. 4
During the Battle of the Frogs and Mice quest, when prompted to choose a dialogue option with either village leader, select the option to make peace, such as _"Wouldn’t you rather make up?"_
  5. 5
Continue down the path of reconciliation until you receive the objective to speak with Bailiff Thrush in Troskowitz.
  6. 6
Travel to Troskowitz and find Bailiff Thrush. You will need to gain permission to examine the late former bailiff’s chronicle. You can do this by saying _"Von Bergow would reward you."_ or by succeeding at a Speech check.
  7. 7
Enter the barracks near the inn and locate the scribe's work area. Find the chronicle on a lectern and flip to the end to find the Latin inscription: _”And if the people knew just one thing about him truly - Fecit ordinem in regione ope clavi ferrei.”_
  8. 8
Speak to Scribe Gaibl nearby and have him translate the Latin. He will explain it means _“bringing order to the region with the help of an iron nail”_.
  9. 9
Head to the pasture west of Tachov and examine the search area. Look for an oak tree near the center and carefully inspect it for a dark-colored nail sticking out of the bark.
  10. 10
Examine the nail. Do not remove it. If you wish to give the land to one village, you can plant the nail on a different tree, but for the Truce achievement, a fair division is required.
  11. 11
Return to Bailiff Thrush and inform him of your discovery.
  12. 12
Return to the quest-giver (Old Olbram or Innkeeper Prochek) and go to the pasture with him.
  13. 13
Bailiff Thrush will arrive to render his verdict on the pasture's boundaries. The achievement should pop as he begins to address the crowd.
Tips
  • Focus on completing the main objectives of the Frogs and Mice quests. Optional objectives primarily offer bonus groschen and praise, which are not essential for this achievement.
  • Be extremely cautious during the prank quests to avoid detection or violence, as failure can lock you out of the Truce achievement.
  • When examining the oak tree for the nail, be patient as it can be difficult to spot due to its dark color.
  • The final verdict by Bailiff Thrush may not satisfy either village leader, but this is the correct outcome for achieving peace and the Truce achievement.
