Don't get caught with your pockets full! Learn how to unlock and utilize stash locations in Kingdom Come: Deliverance II to manage your inventory and gear up for adventure.
Alright, so carrying capacity is a thing in Kingdom Come: Deliverance II, just like in most RPGs. Henry can only lug around so much before he starts feeling the strain. If you overdo it, you won't be able to run or fast travel, which can be a real pain if enemies decide to show up. The good news is that walking around overburdened outside of towns actually helps level up your Strength and Vitality, so it's not all bad. You'll want to keep a good mix of gear on you – outfits for talking to people, armor for fighting, and sneaky clothes for when you need to be quiet. Plus, you know, food, potions, bandages, maybe some loaded dice... you get the picture. You can't carry everything you might need, especially if you plan on looting your fallen enemies, so you're definitely going to need a stash.
Unlocking Stashes:
Unlocking stashes is pretty straightforward: they usually come with beds. The more beds you unlock, the more stashes you'll find, though not every bed comes with one. Here are the beds that come with stashes in the Trosky region:
- Tachov: After talking to the blacksmith and finishing The Blacksmith's Son quest (it's basically a crafting tutorial), you'll get a room with a bed and a stash.
- Zhelejov Wagoners’ Inn: Rent a room from the innkeeper for about 120 groschen. You'll get a nice bed with a stash nearby, plus a stew pot downstairs for Henry's needs.
- Lower Semine Mill: Do a job for Miller Kreyzl (this starts the Materia Prima quest). Once you're done hauling sacks, you'll unlock a bed and a stash upstairs.
- Trosky Castle: You'll get your own room with a bed and a stash near the smithy after completing the main quest For Whom the Bell Tolls.
Once you unlock these beds, you'll have access to the storage chests. The best part? All these storage chests share an inventory. So, don't stress about where you put things – anything you want to keep but don't want to carry can be stashed away!
Which Stash is Best?
While you can get all of them, some are better than others. The Trosky Castle stash is probably not your first stop since it requires finishing a lot of main and side quests. The Lower Semine Mill stash isn't great either – it's low quality, you can't read by it, and you have to climb a ladder to get to it, which is a bit of a hassle.
That leaves the Tachov and Zhelejov Wagoners' Inn stashes. The Tachov one is free, which is awesome. The Zhelejov Inn stash is higher quality, gives you access to a stew pot (keeping Henry fed and happy), and is generally a bit more convenient. If you want the absolute quickest and easiest stash right at the start, head to Tachov and complete The Blacksmith's Son. It's just a bit of talking and a mini-game.
Need money for the Zhelejov Inn room? Picking herbs and brewing potions to sell is a solid way to earn groschen. If you brewed potions during the prologue, you might even have enough already. If not, it's super easy to make the money within minutes of getting out of the pillory.
