Mark of the Brotherhood Quest Walkthrough

If you have completed the Ars Dimicatoria quest, return to the Swordfighting Guild in the southwest of Kuttenberg and speak with Menhard van Frankfurt to begin the Mark of the Brotherhood task.

Menhard will ask you to reacquire the Guild Sword. Head to the Butcher Store, located north of the Kuttenberg Town Hall Fast Travel point, and speak with Emmeram. He will tell you the sword is broken and discarded in a rubbish heap.

Travel to the Rubbish Heap on the southernmost side of Kuttenberg (or northeast of Kuttenberg Underground). Be cautious of dogs in the area. You will find three patches of mud to dig up.

The rubbish heap will not contain the Guild Sword, as Emmeram has lied to you. Return to Emmeram's store and select the dialogue option "You’re starting to infuriate me" to force him to give you the sword.

Take the broken Guild Sword back to Menhard at the Swordfighting Guild. He will ask you to reforge it.

Go to one of the two blacksmiths in the center of Kuttenberg. Purchase Fastening Material and Toledo Steel from the blacksmith.

Interact with the forge to begin the reforging process. Heat the workpiece in the furnace until it glows a bright straw yellow.

Go to the Anvil (press X/A/E) and strike the workpiece with the hammer, ensuring you create a large spark with each hit.

Once the Guild Longsword is reforged, return it to Menhard at the Swordfighting Guild to complete the quest.
