Complete Kingdom Come: Deliverance II Ransom side quest walkthrough. Learn how to start the quest, find Peter, negotiate with Laszlo, and choose sides for the best rewards.
Walkthrough
- 1Start the Quest: After completing the main quest 'Speak of the Devil', fast travel to Kuttenberg and then to Danemark. You may encounter an ambush; help clear it and speak to Jan of Suchotlesky near the cart. Agree to help by saying "I can try" to begin the Ransom side quest and receive a letter from Jan. If you miss the ambush, find Jan injured in an inn west of Kuttenberg (Old Kutna Wagoners Inn) and heal him to start the quest.
- 2Find Peter of Suchotlesky: This is an optional but important step. Go to Sigismund’s Camp and speak to people there to get Peter's location. Sneak into the area around the marked tent through a gap in the fence. The prisoner inside is not Peter. After giving him food, he'll mention a dead man who might be Peter. Follow the marker towards the bathhouse, go through a gap in wagons, and check the cart with a body – this appears to be Peter.
- 3Find Laszlo Farkas: Locate Laszlo near a campfire, often in a red tent. Explain your purpose and that you know about Peter. If you have high charisma, you can claim Jan cannot come himself. Feign ignorance to let Laszlo propose a meeting. Ask about the ransom; Laszlo will reveal the handover location: a mill on a hill between Miskowitz and Horschan. Pass a speech check to get Peter’s armor; failing means Laszlo keeps it. You can confront Laszlo about Peter's body, and he will admit the truth.
- 4Inform Jan: Return to Jan and tell him what happened. If you found Peter's body, Henry will break the news gently. Jan will want revenge, and refusing him will fail the quest.
- 5Find Reinforcements (Optional): You can recruit allies for Jan's revenge mission. Potential allies include Kubyenka and Adder, Emmeram and Linhart, Goliath and Hog, Menhard’s Swordsmen, The Zimburg Brothers, Mikesh and Kozliek, or mercenaries from Mesoles. After recruiting, return to Jan and state you are ready.
- 6Choose Sides: Go to the handover location. A cutscene will show Jan and Laszlo negotiating. You must choose whether to side with Jan or Laszlo.
- 7Siding with Jan: A fight begins. Help Jan defeat Laszlo and his allies.
- 8Siding with Laszlo: You must kill Jan. Jan is an easier target as he wears no armor.
Tips
- Finding Peter's body provides more information and dialogue options.
- Jan is the easier opponent if you choose to fight him directly.
- Consider recruiting reinforcements to make the fight easier if you side with Jan.
- If you side with Jan: Speak to Jan after the fight to receive Peter of Suchotlesky’s Sword and 125 Groschen.
- If you side with Laszlo: Loot 500 Groschen from Jan’s body. Laszlo will give you all of Peter’s armor, including his sword.
