Alright, so you're tackling the 'For Victory' quest in Kingdom Come: Deliverance II, and you want to make sure you don't miss a beat? No worries, I've got your back. This quest is all about preparing for a big feast and then dealing with some unexpected trouble. Let's get you through it smoothly.
Walkthrough
- 1Feast and Enjoy the Good Life! First things first, if it's not already evening, let's fast-forward time to about 9 or 10 PM. Head over to Trosky Castle and find Hans Capon. Talking to him will kick off a scene, and it's your cue to get a few things done before you can get some much-needed rest.
- 2Go Into The Kitchen for Wine Your first errand is to get some wine for Hans. Make your way to the kitchen and have a chat with Cook Manyeta. She'll happily get you the wine. Now, if your thievery skill is pretty high, she might ask you to pickpocket a chest in the room, but don't worry about it if you don't want to – you can still get the wine without doing that.
- 3Go and Get Armour Hans needs some new gear before the upcoming battle. Head over to the Smithy and find Blacksmith Osina. Tell him you're here for the armor. He might try to get you to craft it yourself, but you can still get some decent equipment by choosing the dialogue option, "I don't want to quarrel."
- 4Get a Good Night’s Sleep After your errands, head back up to the buffet area. You'll find Widow Johanka of Zhernov there. If you're looking for some company for the evening, you can choose a specific set of dialogue options to spend time with her. Here’s the path I usually take:
- I’ll be glad to tell you what happened
- 5It was a lovely day for bathing.
- 6They chased us into the rocks (Scarily)
- 7The Bailiff is a silly fool.
- 8Yes, I’ll be glad to escort you.
- 9I think I can convince you.
- 10Go Down to the Mill with Capon Once you wake up, find Hans Capon again – he’s usually hanging out opposite the Smithy. Give him the Common Longsword and Smooth Cuirass, plus the wine you grabbed earlier. Then, hop on your horse and follow him. A cutscene will play, but unfortunately, you'll be ambushed before you even reach the mill. You'll need to stick close to Hans and work together to get through this. There will be a lot of enemies, so don't get overwhelmed. The best strategy is to attack the same person Hans is fighting – this way, you'll take them down much faster. If you end up in a one-on-one fight, play it safe. Focus on defense, only attack after a successful parry, and try not to drain your stamina completely.
- 11Survive the Duel Eventually, you'll hit a barricade. To get past it, walk under the fallen branch just southwest of the cart. You'll have to deal with a couple more enemies after that. Keep pushing towards the mill, and another scene will trigger. This leads into a duel against their Captain. Honestly, it's not too tough, especially if your health is decent. Just focus on parrying his attacks and landing about three hits. The soldiers will step in before things get too hairy, another cutscene will play, and then you'll be off to start the 'Divine Messenger' quest.
Tips
- When fighting in groups during the ambush, always try to focus on the same enemy Hans is engaging. It makes a huge difference in clearing them out quickly.
- In one-on-one duels, prioritize defense. Learn the parry timing and only strike when you have a clear opening. Don't get greedy and run out of stamina – that's when you're most vulnerable.
- Don't forget to grab the sword and cuirass for Hans before heading out. Missing these might make the next part harder than it needs to be.
