Navigate The Ornate Box quest in Dragon's Dogma 2. Discover walkthrough steps, understand choices between giving gold or the box, and see all rewards.
Walkthrough
- 1After witnessing the dispute between a child and a potion seller, find the child near the wall opposite the stall. He is wearing a red shirt, black and gold leggings, vest, and hat.
- 2When you speak to the child (Sven), you have two choices:
- 3Give the child the gold (1000 G) to buy the box himself.
- 4Buy the Ornate Box for the child. This is the cheaper option.
- 5After making your choice, wait one to two days.
- 6Return to the fountain in the market center during the day. The child will be waiting for you.
- 7You will need to meet with the child at the fountain a few times over the course of the quest, waiting about a day or two between each meeting.
- 8Each time you return, the child will have a reward for you. The reward and dialogue will differ based on your initial choice.
Tips
- Giving the child 1000 G is generally the more rewarding option in terms of raw value, as you get your gold back plus other items.
- The Jasper item received when giving the box is worth 800 G in Vernworth, but can be sold for up to 2800 G in Batahhl later in the game.
- Both choices reward you with the Courtly set (Courtly Breeches, Courtly Tunic), which is necessary for a main questline and another quest from Sven picked up at the palace.
- Consider doing other Vernworth side quests like Vocation Frustration, Till Death Do Us Part, Gift of the Bow, The Heel of History, A Place to Call Home, and Beggar's Tale concurrently to save time.
