Follow our comprehensive guide to complete the 'A Trial of Archery' side quest in Dragon's Dogma 2, including how to start it, navigate Sacred Arbor, and rescue Doireann.
Walkthrough
- 1After completing 'Gift of the Bow,' wait for Glyndwr to reappear outside Roderick’s Smithy. Talk to him to begin 'A Trial of Archery.'
- 2Glyndwr will ask you to meet him at a campfire east of the ruins near the Forgotten Tunnel dungeon.
- 3Rendezvous with Glyndwr, and he will escort you to Sacred Arbor. Be prepared to fend off wolves and choppers during the journey.
- 4Upon arriving in Sacred Arbor, Glyndwr will interpret an elvish exchange. He will then lead you to the Arborist’s Home to speak with Taliesin.
- 5Taliesin will inform you that Glyndwr’s trial is delayed because an elf named Doireann has been abducted by an ogre. Glyndwr will ask for your help in rescuing her.
- 6Follow Glyndwr back across the Arbor Bridge, down the spiral ramp, and into a cave north of the ramp’s descent. This is the westernmost entrance to the Ancestral Chambers.
- 7Inside the cave, defeat any wolves and choppers. Climb rubble in the southwestern corner to reach a ledge and progress to the northwestern corner. Loot the chest here for 1,830G.
- 8Drop to the ground floor and head north/northeast. Both paths will lead to the same point. Defeat the choppers and continue northwest to find a chest containing Dried Fruit x5 and 1,200G.
- 9Proceed southeast into a garden chamber. Defeat any choppers, wolves, or harpies. Loot the chest under a pavilion for 270 RC.
- 10Find an ornate chest in the southwest of the garden chamber containing Over-Knee Boots.
- 11Enter the ruins to the southeast. At a three-way fork, turn left (north). At the next fork, turn left (west), scramble up a slope to a high grassy ledge overlooking the garden chamber, and loot the chest for a Ring of Percipience.
- 12Head back down into the tunnels. In the southeastern corner, find ruins leading to a natural stone ledge with a breakable rock.
- 13The way forward is to the north. Ascend the stairs to trigger a scene where Glyndwr frees Doireann from the ogre using his archery skills.
- 14You now have two options to rescue Doireann: defeat the ogre or carry Doireann and flee.
