Claw Them Into Shape Walkthrough

Start the Quest: Travel west from the Borderwatch Outpost, ascend the mountain, and find Beren's Camp. Speak to Beren, who will ask you to find a motivated soldier and three swords for training.

Find the Motivated Soldier: After completing the 'In Dragon's Wake' storyline and reaching the capital, explore Vernworth. South of Clovis' Barberie, an NPC named Humphrey will approach you. Tell him about the sergeant looking for recruits. The Motivated Soldier will then approach you; tell them to see the 'Catman.' Later, Humphrey can be found in the northern part of the kingdom for future quest steps.

Procure Training Swords: You need three swords for Beren. You can purchase 'Trusty Swords' for 850 G each from the Borderwatch Outpost's smithy (total 2550 G). Alternatively, 'Iron Swords' cost around 1400 G each at Roderick's Smithy in Vernworth. Free swords can be found in chests, such as a Silver Rapier on a roof in Vernworth or melee weapons in the Trevo Mine.

Return to Beren: With the soldier recruited and swords acquired, return to Beren's Camp. If he's not there, rest at a nearby camp until morning. Hand in both objectives to Beren.

Duel Beren: Beren will challenge you to a duel. You can win or lose; the outcome doesn't significantly affect the quest. Do not move out of the small arena, or you will forfeit.

Defend the Bridge: After the duel, run with Beren to a nearby bridge where guards report a Cyclops attack. The quest concludes here, with Beren stating he is getting the sack.

Optional: Hunt the Cyclops: If you wish, you can hunt the Cyclops located north of the bridge, near a mine. It has two HP bars, can poison you, and knock you back. Burning and staggering it are effective tactics. Defeating it may yield a Wizard hat and other useful items.
