Find Ian in Melve: Head to the village center of Melve. You're looking for Ian, a man with a round shield on his back and a long cloak. He'll be muttering about his missing brother. Chat with him to start the quest. Be aware that accepting this quest, especially at night, can lead to tougher enemies spawning. It's generally easier to tackle this during the day.

Follow Ian and Rescue Norbert: Once you agree to help, just stick close to Ian as he leads you out of Melve. You'll encounter a few goblins along the path, but they're usually not much of a threat. You might come across a campsite that Ian and Norbert used; he might suggest resting here, but it's only really necessary if it's nighttime and you want to play it safe. Keep following the road, cross the bridge, and you'll find Norbert cornered by a pack of wolves.

Defeat the Wolves: Take care of the wolves attacking Norbert. While it's usually just wolves, there's a small chance other enemies like goblins or even an ogre could show up, so be prepared for a slightly tougher fight than expected.

Escort Ian and Norbert Back to Melve: After the wolves are dealt with, Ian and Norbert will have a short chat. Your next task is to escort both of them safely back to Melve. Once you reach the village, Ian will thank you, and the quest will conclude.
