Learn where to find Imposters in Dragon's Dogma 2, their locations near the Eastern Forest and Sacred Arbor, and strategies to defeat them for XP and DCP.

This guide details the locations and strategies for finding and defeating Imposters in Dragon's Dogma 2. Imposters are a type of small enemy that can be encountered in specific areas.

Imposter Locations:

  1. Eastern Forest Area: Exit Vernworth via the northeastern gate. Follow the path over the first bridge, continuing northeast until you reach another bridge leading southeast. Follow either the north or south path east over a final bridge. The Imposter and their group will roam this general area.
  2. Near Sacred Arbor: Travel northwest from Vernworth. Follow the larger northern path at the first intersection, then take the northwestern road at the next. At the intersection near the river, take the western path. At the subsequent intersection, take the small southern path to find a campsite where the Imposter and their group will be. A Portcrystal in Sacred Arbor can shorten this travel.

Should you Fight the Imposters?

Defeating an Imposter and their group of four yields 1100-1400 XP and 100 DCP per member. Imposters are logged in the NPC Logbook as an NPC and in the Adventure Logbook under Enemies Felled after defeat. They cannot be revived at the morgue, and no related quests have been found, making their primary purpose the XP and DCP rewards.

How to Defeat the Imposters:

Imposters and their groups behave similarly to player Pawns. A recommended level for this encounter is around 30. Prioritize eliminating the Thief (Daggers) enemies first, as they are a significant threat. Follow this by taking down the Sorcerers (Archistaff). Once these are dealt with, the remaining enemies, including Warriors (Greatsword), should be manageable, though do not underestimate them.

Effective skills for quickly defeating the group include Thief’s Skull Splitter, Magick Archer’s Martyr’s Bolt, and Sorcerer’s Meteoron or Maelstrom, which can often one-shot the entire group.
