Follow our Dragon's Dogma 2 A Beggar's Tale walkthrough to find the beggar at different times, get the Beggar Garb, and choose who to give it to for the best rewards.

Walkthrough
  1. 1
Find the Beggar: The beggar's location changes based on the time of day:
    1. Morning to Noon: Market Square Statue
  2. 2
Afternoon to Early Evening: Walter’s Tavern (in the slums, by the beach)
  3. 3
After Dark: A house at the bottom right tip of the Common Quarter, against the city wall.
  • Gather the Beggar Garb: Visit Walter's Tavern in the afternoon to trigger dialogue with the beggar's girlfriend. Return after dark when the beggar runs into the house at the bottom right of the Common Quarter. Wait a few minutes for him to leave, then enter the house and loot the Beggar Garb. If you miss this opportunity, you must wait until the next day.
  • Make Your Choice: With the Beggar Garb in your inventory, you must decide who to give it to:
    1. Celine: A Beastren at the Slums by Walter’s Tavern.
    2. Hilda: In Baldwin’s Estate in the Noble Quarter (behind the chapel, below the Palace).
  • Wait for Consequences: After giving the outfit to your chosen NPC, wait approximately two in-game days.
  • Return for Rewards: Visit the NPC you gave the outfit to for the quest's conclusion and your reward.
    • Giving the Garb to Hilda: 3x Onyx, 900 XP. Albert gets a job.
    • Giving the Garb to Celine: Your XP. Celine becomes unstable, kills Albert, and then herself.
    Tips
    • Ensure you are at the Slums pub when it turns dark to witness the beggar run off to his house.
    • Loot the Beggar Garb quickly after the beggar leaves the house, or you will have to wait until the next day.
    • Giving the Beggar Outfit to Hilda is generally considered the better option for a more neutral outcome and a better reward.
    • The source material mentions that using Wakestones on Celine or the Beggar was not tested, suggesting potential for further interaction or resolution.
