Follow our step-by-step guide to complete the Wandering Roots quest in Dragon's Dogma 2, including how to convince Taliesin to evacuate the Sacred Arbor and the rewards you'll receive.
Walkthrough
- 1To begin the quest, travel to the Sacred Arbor. A Portcrystal is available there, allowing for easy access via Ferrystone.
- 2Upon arrival, check the nearby Riftstone for a pawn with the Woodland Wordsmith Specialization if you don't already have it. This specialization may help with communication, though Glyndwr speaks your language.
- 3Find Glyndwr on the circular platform near the entrance. Speak to him to accept the quest. He will explain his father's refusal to evacuate and ask you to follow him.
- 4Follow Glyndwr to his father, Taliesin, who resides in the Arborist's Home in the southwest part of the Sacred Arbor.
- 5Taliesin is initially unwilling to leave due to tradition. Glyndwr will suggest that restoring the Arborheart's health might persuade him.
- 6Option 1: The Proper Way (Arborheart Cutting)
- Obtain an Arborheart Cutting from Taliesin.
- 7Teleport to the Seafloor Shrine - Sacred Ground.
- 8Navigate to the northwest corner of the area where you'll find a dirt patch surrounded by rocks.
- 9Interact with the dirt and plant the Arborheart Cutting.
- 10Return to Taliesin and inform him of your actions. He will then agree to evacuate.
- 11Note: This method may require completing the prerequisite quests 'The Ailing Arborheart' and 'Out of the Forest, Into the Forge'.
- 12Option 2: The Lazy Way
- Speak to Taliesin three times.
- 13He will eventually concede and agree to evacuate, completing the quest.
Tips
- The Woodland Wordsmith Specialization might be helpful for understanding the locals, but it's not strictly necessary as Glyndwr and Taliesin speak your language. You can try talking to Taliesin before seeking the specialization.
- Both methods of convincing Taliesin yield the same rewards.
- 20,000 XP
- 25,000 G
- 30x Wyrmslife Crystals
