Follow our comprehensive walkthrough for Dragon's Dogma 2's 'In Dragon's Wake' quest. Learn how to reach Melve, survive early encounters, and progress to Vernworth.
Walkthrough
- 1Make For Melve: Depart from the southern gate of Borderwatch Outpost and follow the main path towards Melve. You'll encounter Goblins and Harpies; Pawns can assist with Harpies. If overwhelmed, try to evade larger groups of Goblins off the main path. Hire any Pawns you find to aid in combat. Look for Golden Trove Beetles on the way to Melve to slightly increase your carry weight. Reach Melve by crossing the bridge.
- 2Look Around Melve: After entering Melve, explore the square. You'll trigger a flashback where a dragon attacks the village. You will fall to the dragon, but it will choose you as the Arisen.
- 3Awaken in Melve: You wake up in the present day and meet Ulrika. Gregor, a soldier, will ask you to accompany him to Vermund’s capital. Before leaving, speak with Lennart in the Inn. He will thank you for rescuing Ulrika and inform you about the Vocation Guild, where you can change your class.
- 4Accompany Gregor To The Capital: Prepare for a longer journey by purchasing skills from the Vocation Guild and items from the store. You will encounter small groups of Goblins. Consider taking an Oxcart for faster travel.
- 5Defeat the Cyclops: On the way to the capital, you will need to defeat a Cyclops blocking the path as part of the 'One-Eyed Interloper' quest. Gregor's men and your Pawns will assist. Stay back and attack strategically.
- 6Travel to Vernworth: You can travel with Gregor's men or go alone. You will receive a 'Missive To The Captain' quest item. Accompanying Gregor's group provides more support. Use the Oxcart and doze off to skip time. If attacked, disembark to fight and then resume your journey.
- 7Arrive in Vernworth: Upon arrival, meet Captain Brant and complete the quest. He will inform you about a false sovran on the throne and task you with investigating him before revealing yourself as the Arisen.
