Dargonus will ask for your input on the Magnae Accessio ceremony, including festive activities (feeding the poor, executing embezzlers/prayers, or amasec and serf fights) and which companion will stand with you.

The Incident: After your decision, Pasqal will ask to perform a ritual to reveal the machine spirit responsible for recent events. Allow Pasqal to proceed.

Encounter Nomos: Place your hand in the cybergargoyle's mouth. The AI, Nomos, will reveal itself. Greet it politely and inquire about its intentions. It explains it's a sentinel that protected you and asks why you fear it. You can choose to understand it, learn it caused the ship's log anomalies, and witness it electrocute a technomat. You can react to this by telling it to do it again (Heretical), stating only you decide who lives or dies (Dogmatic), or that killing is wrong (Iconoclastic). Finally, instruct Pasqal to investigate Nomos and allow it to exist on your ship for now.

Talk to the Officers: Speak to Master Helsman Ravor and ask about "Epitaph", "Incident N872-04", or "tech-blight". He may recall the ship becoming more responsive. Vigdis might remember "incident" in transmissions from the former Enginseer, noting a brief period of system unresponsiveness.

Talk to Abelard and Idira: Ask Abelard about the same matters; he won't know. Ask Idira, who might catch a faint whisper related to ambitions, antiquity, and chance, though nothing useful.

Talk to Nomos About Theodora's Caches: Return to your personal cogitator and speak with Nomos about the Incident and Epitaph. Ask about the "tech-blight" research notes; Nomos will state they relate to it but offer no further information.

Chapter 2: Loose Ends: You are nearing the end of Chapter 2. You can explore the Frozen Prince and Emperor's Palm systems or attend to outstanding business in Footfall.

Jae Heydari's Celebration: Travel to Footfall. Join Jae and Octaviana in the Amasecus aboard the Martyr's Endurance. Make an Awareness check (+50) for XP. Join their conversation about the cold trade. Falco will arrive with gifts for Jae: the Mercy's Gift cloak and an Exotic Venom Blade. Raise a toast to Jae. Jae proposes a game of tan-to-lo. Make a Lore: Imperium check (+50) to recognize it. Play for wishes. Make a Logic check (+35) to notice a losing hand. Choose to drop your tiles. Jae reveals a winning hand. In the next hand, your Logic check (+15) will be harder due to a -5 skill hit. If successful, you'll have a winning hand. Choose to show it.
