Cassia is a noble and a particularly sheltered one at that. She has grown up surrounded by books and you can win her heart by giving her a storybook romance - make sure you follow the Amour Courtois options.

Tell Cassia That She Is Beautiful

After Cassia has bonded with the ship, speak to her on the bridge. While exploring her conversation options, ask whether she always conceals her third eye. When she says that lesser servants of the Imperium may her find her appearance repulsive, tell her that she is beautiful and she shouldn't let anyone or anything convince her otherwise.

When she blushes, reply that you would not dare make fun of a lady's feelings.

A Fireside Reading

After speaking to Cassia on the bridge and travelling to another part of the Rykad system, Vigdis will tell you that Cassia has gone to the ward room where you will find her reading by the fireside. Tell her that it pleases you to see her adjusting to life on board the ship and point out that she is fond of reading. Explore her other conversation options and she will ask why you are pestering her with questions. It's almost as if you possessed a shred of fellow feeling. Reply that the feelings you have are far more complicated than common sympathy.

As the conversation continues, she expresses her excitement at the new experiences of life aboard ship before stopping herself and asking whether you find all this amusing. Again, reply that you would not dare make fun of a lady's feelings.

Do not suggest that you find amusement elsewhere.

After Cassia leaves, grab the book she was reading, Secrets of Gallant Conduct: How to Express Your Feelings to a Noble Lady, from the table before returning to the voidship bridge.

A Beach Date

When you first visit Governor Vyatt's Estate, Cassia will express a wish to go to the beach.

Give her a flower, take in the view and have a paddle. When you're ready to bring the scene to a close, tell her that it is time you were on your way.

A Warp Report

After completing a warp jump, Cassia will come to your study and tell you what you already know - that the jump went without any serious incidents and the helmsman and crew performed their tasks adequately.

Reply that the crew is fortunate to have her. After this, she mentions that although you have many works of art, you don't have many paintings and she is planning to create a beautiful voidscape inspired by your travels together. Express hope that the masterpiece will soon adorn your walls and she will mention that her reading and knowledge are extensive should you ever be in need of her counsel. Reply that you learn about new sides of her with each passing day.

A Dropped Handkerchief

After a couple more warp jumps, Cassia will want to speak again about ... a personal matter. Say that you are intrigued and she will mumble something about one of the books on your shelves before dropping a handkerchief.

Assuming that you read Secrets of Gallant Conduct, you should know what to do: pick it ip, bring it to your lips and return it to her. Cassia will acknowledge the chivalrous gesture ( +1 Amour Courtois) .

An Exchange of Gifts

A couple of jumps after the handkerchief episode, Uve will come to your study and present you with a living flower.

Make an Intelligence (+45) check for some XP. After Uve leaves, make your way to the bridge and speak to Janris about the gift you've received. Make an educated guess as to who sent it to you and Janris will tell you the significance of an immortalium among the nobility. Question him further to learn that a reciprocal gift should display equal effort and emotion and should be delivered through a third party. Assuming you've been paying attention, you should know what to give her: a singularly superior library ( +1 Amour Courtois).

A Private Conversation

A few jumps after the exchange of gifts, Uve will come to your study with an invite from Cassia. The scene will switch to the Navigator's Sanctum where she will be gushing over her new library.

When Cassia asks whether you enjoyed her game, respond positively. When she offers you her hand, kiss it.

Rescue Cassia From the Anatomical Opera

When you rescue Cassia from the Anatomical Opera, you will pick up Cassia's thoughts wishing that she had never been born. Reply that when you are with her, you will strive to alleviate her every sorrow. Cassia will enumerate the various harms that she might have done you and demands that you end the relationship for your own sake. Resist the impulse to run and instead hold her and kiss her and tell her that you won't let her go ( +1 Amour Courtois).

When Cassia feebly protests, hold her closer (or kiss her again). When she chides you for endangering yourself to rescue her, reply that you were thinking about a future where you could be together. When she asks what you could possibly see in someone like her, kiss her again.

Speak to Cassia in the Pit

After rescuing Cassia and returning to the Pit, speak to her again and her emotions will overwhelm you.

Do not attempt the Willpower check. Instead, say that you can see the colours of her soul just as she can see yours ( +1 Amour Courtois). Cassia becomes alarmed at what she might have done when she bathed you in her Navigator's gaze and offers to suppress your powers before even more harm befalls you. Reply that you do not revile this power or her and after you've kissed again, tell her that you are glad to have had the chance to see her world.

Duty Calls

Cassia will want to speak to you on a matter of urgency and is strangely cold. Back in your study she tells you that she will shortly be called to House Orsellio while you have your own duties to your protectorate and the Emperor. Protest and she will retort that she sees human feelings every day and love and attachment are fleeting and pass quickly. Challenge her again and when she hesitates, tell her that you love her.
