Back On The Path

Follow our Hogwarts Legacy walkthrough for the 'Back On The Path' quest. Learn about Professor Fig, Charles Rookwood, and the upcoming trial.

Alright, so you've just unlocked the Map Room Floo Flame, which is super handy. Fast travel there using the 'Secret Rooms' section on your Hogwarts Map. When you arrive, Professor Fig will be there, giving you props to The Keepers. He'll say something like, "You would be wise not to underestimate this student." This is when the "Back on the Path" main quest officially kicks off.

Next up, the Witches and Wizards are going to fill you in on Lodgok, who they trust to have some crucial info. This conversation catches the ear of Charles Rookwood, and you'll notice he's getting a bit nervous because Ranrok is on the hunt for something. Apparently, there's been a lot of Goblin and Wizard action around his portrait at Rookwood Castle. This castle is also where your next trial is happening, hinting at some seriously powerful magic there.

It turns out Victor Rookwood, Charles's descendant, is a bit of a Dark Wizard. Because of all this, Charles Rookwood decides to speed things up and move the next trial forward. He mentions it's a source of immense power that would be a real disaster if it fell into the wrong hands. Having faith in you, he'll send you off to find Charles Rookwood's portrait ASAP.
