Unlock the secrets of beast breeding in Hogwarts Legacy. Learn how to maximize your profits by understanding breeding mechanics, Vivarium capacity, and selling baby beasts.

Beast breeding in Hogwarts Legacy is unlocked during the winter season after completing Deek's side quest, "The Plight of the House-Elf." While the quest introduces the basics, this guide will help you maximize the feature's potential.

How Beast Breeding Works: To breed beasts, you need a male and female of the same species in a Vivarium with a breeding pen. Interact with the post outside the pen to select the species for breeding. A 30-minute countdown will begin, and the baby beast will be born after 30 minutes of in-game playtime. Real-world time does not count, and there are no in-game items to speed up the process.

Maximizing Beast Breeding: Each Vivarium can hold four breeding pens, and with four Vivariums, you have a total of twelve pens. By setting alarms, you can harvest twelve baby beasts every 30 minutes, or twenty-four per hour. Each baby beast sells for 120 Galleys (G), allowing for a profit of 1440 G every 30 minutes or 2880 G every hour. It's recommended to collect and sell beasts at the end of a play session to maximize your earnings throughout the game.

Breeding Shiny Beasts: Yes, you can breed shiny beasts. There is no current evidence to suggest that breeding two shiny beasts increases the chance of getting another shiny. Shiny beasts have no special advantages outside of their coloring and do not sell for more money.
