How to Customize Your Character

Learn how to customize your character in Hogwarts Legacy, from choosing presets and face shapes to styling hair, selecting eye color, and picking a voice tone.

The first thing you’ll do in Hogwarts Legacy is customize your appearance. You'll start by picking a preset, which acts as a starting point for your character.

On the next page, you can choose your face shape, skin color, and glasses. Face shapes alter facial features like the nose and eyes. A skin color slider lets you change your character’s hue. You can add circular glasses or other styles, with more glasses appearances unlocking later in the game.

Next, you'll style your hair. Choose from a variety of short and long hairstyles, and use the slider to select a hair color, including options like pink, green, and purple.

The complexion tab allows you to adjust how rosy your cheeks are and how tired your character looks. You can also add freckles and moles, and pick from 10 different scars.

On the following tab, you can change your eye color and select from various eyebrow styles, customizing their color independently from your hair.

The final customization tab lets you choose a voice tone and adjust its pitch. Here, you also determine the game’s difficulty: Story, Easy, Normal, or Hard mode.

Finally, you'll choose a name and a dormitory. You can select either Witch or Wizard, and are not restricted by character presentation.

Hogwarts Legacy Wizard Name Ideas

For naming your character, consider these ideas:

1. Old-fashioned first name + funny surname: Combine a traditional first name with a made-up fantasy surname (e.g., Persephone Wolftooth, Arthur Mumps).
2. House-themed names: Create names that reflect the traits of your chosen Hogwarts house. For Hufflepuff, try nature-inspired names like Botanica Greenfoot. For Slytherin, use serpentine names like Sarissa Striker. For Gryffindor, consider names evoking their colors or values, like Godric Redbeard. For Ravenclaw, use names suggesting intelligence, like Albert or Marie, paired with fitting surnames like Bluewing.
3. Favorite Harry Potter character: You can choose to name your character after a favorite character from the books or movies.
