Alright, so at the very start of Hogwarts Legacy, after the Sorting Ceremony, you'll head over to Ollivander's to get your first wand. This is a cool moment where you get to personalize your magical tool!

You'll have a few options to tweak your wand's look and feel. Think of it like this:

The Wand Style is all about the visual flair – the shape and color of your wand. You've got a few different styles to pick from, and each one comes in three color variations. This is where you make your wand really stand out visually.

Then there's the Wood Type. There are a whopping 38 different woods to choose from! While it might not drastically change how your wand looks, each wood has its own lore significance, which is a fun detail for Harry Potter fans. You also get to decide the length, anywhere from 9.5 to 14.5 inches (in quarter-inch increments), and its flexibility, which affects how it animates when you cast spells – think more sturdy or more bendy.

Finally, the Wand Core options are Dragon Heartstring, Unicorn Hair, and Phoenix Feather. Like the wood type, this doesn't actually change your gameplay or what spells you can use (you unlock those through quests). It's more of a nod to the rich Harry Potter lore, letting you really lean into your character's backstory.

Now, here's a neat trick: you can actually take a quiz on the Wizarding World website to determine your House, Patronus, and Wand. If you link your Warner Brothers game account to your Wizarding World account, the wand you get from the quiz can be imported into the game. But don't worry if you're not a fan of the quiz result – you can always go through the normal wand creation process in-game and change it up. For example, the quiz might give you a 10 ¾” Beech wood wand with a unicorn core, but you can totally swap it out later if you want.
