Find All Hogwarts Legacy Ancient Magic Hotspots

Ancient Magic Hotspots are challenges that appear in The Highlands after you learn to cast Ancient Magic during the 'Secrets of the Restricted Section' main quest. Completing these challenges increases your Ancient Magic meter. The number of hotspots required for each upgrade level is as follows:

Upgrade 1: 2 Hotspots
Upgrade 2: 6 Hotspots
Upgrade 3: 12 Hotspots

Below are the locations and solutions for each Ancient Magic Hotspot, starting from the north of the map.

Forbidden Forest Ancient Magic Hotspots

Hotspot 1

Collect the first essence to your right after activating the hotspot. Climb over the broken wall to your right and duck under the rubble for the second essence. The final essence is in the room to the left, accessible by climbing to the platform with the chest.

Hotspot 2

Enter the first frog statue on the left to reach the first essence. Return, burn away the spiderwebs with Incendio, and proceed to the large chest area. Use the statue there to reach the second essence. Go back to the first set of statues and use the left statue of the two on the right. Leap left to collect the third essence.

Hogsmeade Valley Ancient Magic Hotspot

Hotspot 3

Climb the ladder and go around the back to find leaves to burn with Incendio. The first essence is at the back of this room. Climb the platforms in the room to reach the second essence. Use Depulso on the lock to drop to the room below and find the third essence.

North Hogwarts Valley Ancient Magic Hotspot

Hotspot 4

Burn away the leaves with Incendio to reach the first essence. Use Depulso on the planks behind it to reveal a hole you can drop into, then pull a switch to lower a wall for the second essence. Defeat the Inferi, then go behind another wall to find the final essence.

Hogwarts Valley Ancient Magic Hotspots

Hotspot 5

Burn away the spiderwebs with Incendio to collect the first essence. Continue to the back, defeat spiders, burn another spiderweb, and collect the second essence. Look to your left for a climbable crate, then follow the path to a hole in the building where the final essence is located.

Hotspot 6

Drop down and defeat the wolves. Use Depulso on the mechanism to open the gate and get the first essence. Go to the opposite side, burn some leaves, and use the box (or fly) to reach the room with the second essence. Fly to the top of the area where the first essence was found and burn away the leaves to find the final essence.

Hotspot 7

Fly above the room in front and drop down into the hole to collect the first essence. Head to the left side, scale the platforms, and burn away leaves with Incendio to access the room with the second essence. The final essence can be found by flying over the wall to the left of the entrance.

Hotspot 8

Burn away leaves with Incendio to enter the building, then break the crates to your right to find the first essence. Use Accio to pull a crate to the wall and climb up. When you find the next stack of crates, pull one out with Accio to duck under and find the second essence. Climb up the platform and jump to the other side to find the final essence.

Hotspot 9

Fly up to the chimney to find the first essence. Use Revelio and fly southwest to find the second essence. Return to the first house and fly east to find the final essence in the field.

Hotspot 10

Burn away the leaves on the nearby door. Once inside, duck to the right to find the first essence. Climb the ladder, then pull the switch below with Accio to find the second essence. Climb the next ladder and break the crates to find a hole containing the final essence.

Feldcroft Region Ancient Magic Hotspots

Hotspot 11

You can collect all essences without engaging the Bandit Camp. Go down the stairs for the first essence. Fly over to the nearby building and get the essence on top. The final one can be found by dropping to the room below.
