    Exit the break room and proceed west into the reactor room. Stay on high ground to avoid electrical hazards and defeat Radroaches.

    Continue west to the Overseer’s chamber. Pick up the 10mm Pistol and ammo from the desk.

    Search a caged area to the west to find more ammo and the Cryolater Case (Master lock). The Cryolator is inaccessible without the Locksmith perk at Lv41.

    Search the Overseer’s quarters (north) if desired.

    Proceed south through a doorway to encounter a large group of Radroaches. This area serves as the VATS tutorial. Use VATS and your new pistol to defeat them.

    Follow the linear path ahead until you reach the vault entrance.

    Kill two more Radroaches and pick up the Pip-Boy 3000 near the Vault Door Controls. Familiarize yourself with its menus.

    Interact with the Vault Door Controls and take the elevator.

    If this is your first time exiting, you will have the opportunity to respec your character's appearance and stats.

    Exit the vault.

    From the exterior elevator, locate the small control building to the northeast. Inside, find the Vault 111 Elevator Button to return to Vault 111.

  • Enemies and items do not respawn in Vault 111.
  • You can return to Vault 111 later to attempt to retrieve the Cryolator.
  • VATS allows you to slow time and target specific body parts for increased damage or to cripple enemies.
