Lexington Overview

Your guide to Lexington in Fallout 4! Learn about quests like The First Step, key locations like Corvega Assembly Plant, enemies like Raiders and Ghouls, and how to handle the Behemoth.

Alright, so you've probably done some exploring around Sanctuary and maybe even hit up Starlight Drive-In. Good on ya! Lexington is the next logical step, and it's not a huge leap in difficulty. Plus, you'll likely get pointed here for The First Step quest with the Minutemen, which is a pretty early objective. Clearing Lexington also gets you closer to Cambridge and eventually that big city hub, Diamond City, plus opens up quests for the Brotherhood of Steel. It's a solid area to get your bearings outside the immediate starting zone.

Lexington itself is a pretty compact area compared to the wider wasteland around Sanctuary and Concord. You've got a few key spots to keep an eye on: Mystic Pines up north, the Super Duper Mart to the northwest, the Corvega Assembly Plant to the southwest, and the central Lexington Apartments. The Apartments area kind of blends into the rest of Lexington, which also includes smaller spots like a Pharmacy, a Parking Garage, Slocum Joe’s Basement, and a Laundromat.

When you're poking around Lexington, expect to run into a mix of trouble. Mostly, it's Raiders and Feral Ghouls, and the Raiders have set up some turrets for good measure. The good news? They don't always play nice with each other. You'll often see them fighting it out, especially around the Lexington Apartments. Generally, the Raiders are more on the eastern side and use the Corvega Assembly Plant as a base, while the Ghouls are holed up in various ruined buildings and have pretty much taken over the Super Duper Mart. Keep in mind that a lot of those Ghouls are just playing dead until you get too close, so don't get too comfortable!

Things get a bit more spicy when you start leveling up. At higher levels, a Behemoth can start showing up in the clearing near the Super Duper Mart. These guys are absolute tanks, but Lexington offers plenty of cover and vantage points to take it down. The real kicker, though, is that the Behemoth tends to stir up all the local Raiders and Ghouls, who will then attack it (and you!). You'll see this chaos happening around the Lexington Apartments too. Keep an eye out for a Raider in Power Armor on a bridge near the top of the Lexington Apartments – they’ve got a Fat Man launcher and aren't afraid to use it, lobbing Mini Nukes all over the place. Dealing with Ghouls, Raiders with heavy ordinance, and a Behemoth all at once can make Lexington a pretty wild ride.
