Best of Three Walkthrough

Start the Quest: Ensure your game is updated and you have exited Vault 111. Open your Pip-Boy, go to the “Radio” tab, and listen to the “Vault Distress Signal”. The quest will update, directing you southwest of Somerville Place.

Investigate Somerville Place: Travel southwest of Somerville Place (approx. 100m) to find a dead Gunner. Loot the Gunner Holotape from the corpse. Hack the Gunner’s Pip-Boy and read entry “21/10/87” to get directions west into the Glowing Sea.

Investigate Hopesmarch Pentecostal Church: Head west to Hopesmarch Pentecostal Church. Enter through holes in the roof. Clear out the Ghouls inside. Drop to the bottom floor and find another dead Gunner near the pulpit. Hack his Pip-Boy and read entry “22/10/87”.

Investigate Relay Tower 0DB-521: Exit the church and head southeast to Relay Tower 0DB-521. Find another dead Gunner, hack his Pip-Boy, and read entry “22/10/87”. After reading, defeat the Bloatflies that emerge from the corpse. Tune into the “Gunner Signal Remnant” on your Pip-Boy.

Follow the Gunner Signal Remnant: Use the signal strength percentage on your Pip-Boy to navigate southwest towards Skylanes Flight 1665. Find the crashed plane and examine the fuselage section without a wing. Loot the “Burning Ash Piles” outside for Gunner attire and ammo if desired.

Confront Caroni: Inside the fuselage, find another dead Gunner. Hack his Pip-Boy. After reading, Caroni will spawn and attack. Defeat him to obtain the Tesla Cannon.
