Drumlin Diner

Approach Wolfgang at Drumlin Diner. He and Trudy are arguing over money. You can talk to either NPC (non-player character — anyone the game controls, not you) to start the quest Order Up.

Follow up with "Demand money" to extort up to 52 Caps from Wolfgang.

Finish with "Now get lost". Wolfgang will leave, and you will have sided with Trudy.

If you fail any persuasion checks, Wolfgang will attack. Killing him also counts as siding with Trudy.

You can stop after the first two persuasion checks to gain XP from Wolfgang before he leaves.

Make three successive persuasion checks: "Ask for money".

Wolfgang's base rate is 100 Caps, which can be increased to 200 Caps. Failing any check reduces the offer back to 100 Caps.

After haggling, pick "Join the attack" to fight Trudy and her son in Drumlin Diner.

After they are slain, talk to Wolfgang to receive your reward: XP and between 100 and 200 Caps.

Wolfgang will then sell you his wares, including chems.

Alternatively, after extorting money from Wolfgang and increasing his offer to 200 Caps, you can pick "Talk to Trudy" to hear her side.

If you did not resolve matters with Wolfgang, talk to Trudy. You have several options:

• Peaceful Resolution (Siding with Wolfgang): Succeed at an easy persuasion check: "Threaten her" or "End peacefully". This will convince Trudy to pay Wolfgang. Talk to Wolfgang to get your negotiated reward (XP and 100 - 200 Caps). You can then do business with both Wolfgang and Trudy.

Offer Support to Trudy: Pick "Offer help". This is similar to negotiating with Wolfgang. Trudy's base rate is 100 Caps, which can be increased to 200 Caps over three persuasion attempts. Failing any check reduces the offer to 100 Caps. You can gain XP from these checks and then resolve matters peacefully.

Siding with Trudy (Attacking Wolfgang): After offering support and negotiating caps, you can choose to gun down Wolfgang and his guard.

Exploring Drumlin Diner: After resolving the quest, you can loot the diner. Most items are considered stealing. The only notable loot is an Advanced locked floor safe behind the counter.

Exploring the Wilderness: Use Drumlin Diner as a staging point. Head west to find a road and follow it southeast until it forks.

• Go uphill to the southwest to find a dilapidated house with random corpses and critters (Wild Mongrels, Radscorpions, Feral Ghouls). There is also random loot and mattresses.

Exit the house and head northwest to find a concrete military structure. Hack a Novice terminal to open a sealed door with a bed and loot.

Head southwest from the structure to find an elevated highway used as a Gunner base. Gunners are heavily armed mercenaries.
