Learn how to access and select scenarios, characters, and difficulties in Resident Evil Outbreak's single-player mode, including unlocking new options.

So, you want to tackle Resident Evil Outbreak solo? When you select "SINGLE PLAY" from the main menu, you'll see a couple of options: "SCENARIO" and "INFINITY". Keep in mind that "INFINITY" mode isn't available right off the bat – you'll need to unlock it first, otherwise, it'll just show up as "? ? ?". Pick whichever one you've unlocked to move forward.

The game will then check your memory card for any saved progress. After that, you'll land on the SCENARIO SELECT screen. At first, only the "OUTBREAK" scenario is available. Don't sweat it, though – you'll unlock four more scenarios by playing the game multiple times. If you've got more than one scenario unlocked, you can use the D-Pad to scroll through them. Below the scenario list, you'll see a short description. Pressing the Triangle button will show you information about the scenario events you've completed. This section will be empty at first, but it'll fill up as you play and accomplish tasks.

Pressing the Action button will take you to the CHARACTER SELECT screen. Use the D-Pad to cycle through the available characters. Press the Action button to confirm your choice, or the Circle button to go back to the scenario selection. On this screen, pressing Triangle will bring up the scenario event checklist. Once you've picked your character, you'll get to choose the difficulty. Initially, only EASY and NORMAL are available. HARD and VERY HARD difficulties need to be unlocked through gameplay. After you've made your difficulty choice, the scenario will begin!
