Single Player mode in Resident Evil Outbreak features an AI Partner system. These CPU-controlled characters assist you, and their actions can significantly impact gameplay. Your AI Partner can move, attack, use items, and interact with the environment just like you can. They have their own vitality and can die if overwhelmed.

You have control over how you interact with your AI Partners. You can choose to assist them in combat or strategically let them cover you while you retreat.

AI Partner Actions and Commands

Each AI Partner possesses a unique personality, influencing their behavior. They may follow you or act independently, with their actions adapting to the scenario's progress and their current condition.

You can issue requests to your AI Partners using the "Appeal A" function, activated by pressing the right analog stick. Be aware that requests may not always be accepted due to their individual personalities. If a request is denied, wait a moment and try again. Requests will not reach partners who are too far away.

The nearest AI Partner will respond to a general request. To direct a request to a specific partner, use the "Appeal B" function by pressing the L2 button and the right analog stick simultaneously.

AI Partner Items

AI Partners can manage their own inventory, acquiring, using, and exchanging items independently. Their item usage varies based on personality; some use items readily, while others hoard them.

You can exchange items with your partners. Use the 'give' command to offer an item and the 'request' command to ask for one. By default, items are given to the closest partner. However, you can designate a specific partner for item transfers using the Appeal command.

When separated, your AI Partner might acquire or use items. Upon reuniting, check their status screen, as they may have found crucial items. The strategic management of items is vital for survival. Consider whether to carry the best items yourself, potentially leaving your partner vulnerable, or to ensure their survival to support you against tougher enemies.
