Learn how AI companions behave in Resident Evil Outbreak, from combat actions to item usage and responding to your commands. Essential tips for survival!

Hey there! So, you're diving into Resident Evil Outbreak and wondering how your AI buddies are gonna act? It can be a little confusing at first, but don't sweat it. Most of the AI-controlled player characters (AIPCs) share a bunch of common behaviors that are pretty consistent across the board. Knowing these will seriously help you manage them and, more importantly, survive!

AI Companion Behaviors:

  • Combat: They'll actually use their current weapon to attack the boss during boss fights. Pretty handy, right?
  • Doors: Don't expect them to block doors with their shoulders like you might. They just won't do it.
  • Items: They're not going to grab key items themselves or use them. You're the one who has to manage the important stuff.
  • Scenario Events: They won't participate in specific scenario events, like building barricades. You'll have to handle those solo.
  • Reloading: If they have ammo and an empty weapon, they'll reload it. It's a small thing, but it keeps them in the fight.
  • Commands: They'll only really respond to your commands when you're at a medium distance. Too close or too far, and they might not hear you.
  • Reviving You: This is a big one! They will ALWAYS pick you up if you're crawling around injured.
  • Crawling for Help: Similarly, if they're in danger and crawling, they'll make their way towards you.
  • Obstacles: They won't try to break down doors, boxes, or barricades. You'll need to find another way or do it yourself.
  • Requests: They're pretty agreeable! They won't totally reject your requests, so don't be afraid to ask for help.
  • Limping: They won't shoulder-check you if you're limping. Good to know!
  • Healing: If they're bleeding, they'll use a Hemostat if they have one. And if they're poisoned, they'll use a Blue Herb. They're self-sufficient with basic healing!
  • Doors You Unlock: Once you unlock a door with a key, they'll immediately go to use it. They're ready to move when you are.

Understanding these quirks will make a huge difference in how you play. You can anticipate their actions and make sure they're actually helping instead of getting in the way. Good luck out there!
