The good news is, unlike their tiny cousins, these big guys can't make more spiders, so once you take 'em down, you're clear. You'll usually find them lurking in gross, underground sewers, just waiting to pounce. Besides the poison, they can also do a nasty tackle up close, and their pounce can knock you right on your butt.

These spiders are pretty tough. A Grenade Launcher is your best bet, but honestly, if you can avoid fighting them, do it. Their turning is kinda slow, so you can often just run circles around them and attack from behind. Just be careful, they can climb on walls and ceilings, meaning they can drop down or spray poison mist from pretty much anywhere. Keep your eyes peeled, especially when you're running under them or towards them. If you get poisoned, try to find a Blue Herb nearby, but don't get poisoned again right after you're cured – you might not find another one!

If you *have* to fight, here's the deal: attack them until they flip over, then run past. If you're using just your knife, it'll take about 20 stabs on Normal difficulty. There's a cool trick if you don't have a strong weapon: try to get the spider onto some stairs. Position yourself behind it, and just keep attacking. Each hit should flip it over. Just wait for it to fully recover before you go in for another hit.
