Hey there! So you've run into the YAT-99 in Final Fantasy X? These guys can be a bit tricky at first, especially since they hang out in the back row during the Bevelle wedding sequence and after you escape the Via Purifico. Don't worry, I'll walk you through it!

Stats / Weaknesses:

• HP: 2,700
• Overkill HP: 2,108
• AP: 1,870
• Weak: Fire/Water
• Strong: Nothing

Item Drops:

• Common Drop: Phoenix Down
• Rare Drop: Mega Phoenix
• Common Steal: Remedy
• Rare Steal: Ether

Strategy:

• When you first encounter the YAT-99, it'll be in the back row, making it impossible to hit with melee attacks. You'll need to defeat the enemies in front of it first. Once your party moves up, you can start wailing on it.
• The YAT-99 has different attack patterns depending on its row. In the back, it can hit a single target or the entire party. Once it's in the front row, it can only perform single-target attacks. Keep this in mind when deciding your approach!
• Since it's weak to Fire and Water, make sure to use those elemental attacks. Spells like Fira or Watera will be super effective here.
• Don't forget to try and steal from it! A Remedy is a common steal, and a Mega Phoenix is a rare but valuable drop if you're lucky.
