Learn how to defeat Klikk, the first boss in Final Fantasy X HD Remaster. This guide covers Tidus's solo phase, ally support, and item drops.

Stats / Weaknesses:

  • HP: 1,500
  • Overkill HP: 400
  • AP: 5
  • Weaknesses: Nothing
  • Resistances: Nothing

Item Drops:

  • Common Drop: Ability Sphere (x2)
  • Rare Drop: Ability Sphere (x2)
  • Common Steal: Grenade
  • Rare Steal: Grenade (x2)

Phases:

  1. Phase 1 (Tidus Solo): You'll start this fight alone as Tidus in the Unknown Temple. Klikk's main attack is a basic physical hit that deals around 100-125 damage. While it doesn't seem like much, it can whittle down your health quickly. The game warns you that you can actually lose to this boss, so always keep an eye on your HP. If it drops below 200, use a Potion, which heals for about 200 HP. Since you're alone, your only option is to use the 'Attack' command.
  2. Phase 2 (Ally Arrives): About halfway through the fight, a cutscene will play, and another character will join you. This ally is great at stealing items from enemies. They'll primarily steal Grenades, which are much more effective against Klikk than Tidus's basic attack, dealing roughly double the damage. However, don't get too comfortable! Klikk's HP resets at this point, meaning you're essentially starting the fight over. You'll be required to use one of the stolen Grenades when your ally arrives, but after that, it's your choice whether to use them or stick with Tidus's attacks. Regardless of your strategy, remember to keep your HP topped up with Potions.

Strategy:

  • Focus on managing your HP. Use Potions whenever your health dips below 200.
  • In the first phase, just keep attacking with Tidus.
  • In the second phase, utilize the Grenades stolen by your ally for increased damage.
  • Don't forget that Klikk's HP resets, so be prepared for a longer fight.
