How To Unlock:
Capture 10 of every capturable fiend in the game and defeat all other Creations.
Strategy:
- Ensure all three characters have Quick Hit and can deal 99,999 damage. Max out Strength, Defense, and Magic Defense; high Agility is also beneficial. Nemesis has low evasion, so high Accuracy is not required.
- Armor should have Auto-Haste and Auto-Phoenix. For the remaining two slots, consider Mag Def +20% to mitigate Nemesis' magical attacks. Auto-Protect can help against normal attacks but is less effective against magical ones.
- Rikku's Mix Overdrive is highly recommended. Use Hyper Mighty G for Protect, Shell, Haste, and crucially, Auto-Life. If Rikku's Overdrive is not ready, manually cast Auto-Life on all characters.
- Nemesis' attack pattern is generally Ethereal Cannon, Ultra Spark, then a physical attack, repeating. It can sometimes insert an additional physical attack.
- Ethereal Cannon: A non-elemental magical attack on a single character. Even with max Magic Defense, it deals 10,000+ damage. Shell and Focus can help mitigate this.
- Ultra Spark: A Special damage attack hitting the entire party, inflicting Poison, Curse, Slow, and Power Break. Auto-Haste counters Slow, and Al Bhed Potions can cure Poison. Dispel can remove Power Break and Curse, but also removes beneficial buffs like Shell. Summoning an Aeon to tank Ultra Spark is a viable strategy.
- Armageddon: Nemesis' ultimate attack, triggered by a hidden counter (starts at 21, +3 for physical attacks, +2 for abilities). It deals a fixed 99,999 damage to the entire party. Auto-Life is essential to survive. An Aeon can also tank this attack.
- Avoid using Overdrives or Special damage abilities, as Nemesis will counter with Ultima. Stick to Quick Hit for attacking.
- The fight can be lengthy due to Nemesis' high HP, but its predictable pattern simplifies the strategy.
