Alright, so you're diving into the underwater section of the Via Purifico and you've run into the Remora. Don't worry, this one's pretty manageable if you know what you're doing!

Stats / Weaknesses:

• HP: 3,000
• Overkill HP: 2,108
• AP: 830
• Weak: Thunder
• Strong: Water (Halves damage)

Item Drops:

• Common Drop: Mana Sphere
• Rare Drop: Mana Sphere
• Common Steal: Dragon Scale
• Rare Steal: Dragon Scale (x2)

Strategy:

• The Remora's biggest threat is its hidden counter. Every time you target it, a counter goes up. Once it hits nine, it has a chance to use Maelstrom, which hits your whole party. Keep an eye on this!
• Your best bet is to hit it with Thunder-based attacks. If Rikku has any Electro or Lightning Marbles, now's the time to use them. If not, just keep wailing on it with your regular attacks.
• Besides Maelstrom, its other attacks are a standard single-target attack and a physical attack called Rush. These aren't too devastating, but it's always good to have your HP topped up.
• Stealing from it can get you Dragon Scales, which are always handy. Try for the rare steal if you can manage it!
