Hey there! So you're diving into Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster? Awesome choice! This game is a real classic, and it's easy to see why. When it first dropped on the PlayStation 2 way back in 2001, it was a huge deal. It was one of the very first games to feature full voice acting, and it really showed off what Square (now Square Enix) could do on the new console. It quickly became a fan favorite and is still considered one of the best RPGs on the PS2 and in the entire Final Fantasy series, having sold over 8 million copies worldwide!

Now, here's a little bit of history you might find interesting: the original Japanese and North American releases were actually missing some content. A bit later, an 'International' version came out with more goodies, and Europe got that one. It wasn't until the HD Remaster in 2014 on PS3 and Vita (and then other platforms) that folks in North America could finally experience all that extra content. It’s pretty cool that we get the complete package now!

Honestly, this game is a gem. I remember playing it myself when it first came out – I was actually in college then! Funnily enough, I almost picked up Shadow Hearts instead, but FFX pulled me in not long after. The battle system and the world? Absolutely captivating.
