Alright, let's talk about the Bomb King! This guy is one of the tougher Species Creations you'll find in the Monster Arena, and you'll need to have captured a good number of Bomb-type fiends before you can even think about fighting him. Don't worry, though, we'll get you through it.

Stats / Weaknesses:

• HP: 480,000
• Overkill: 10,000 AP
• AP: 10,000
• Weak: Nothing
• Strong: Fire (Absorbs)

Item Drops:

• Common Drop: Door to Tomorrow
• Rare Drop: Dark Matter
• Common Steal: Fire Gem (x4)
• Rare Steal: Shining Gem

How To Unlock:

• Capture at least five of each of the following fiends: Bomb, Grenade, Puroboros.

Strategy:

1. The Bomb King is pretty similar to the other Bombs you've fought, but it won't Self-Destruct. Initially, it'll just use physical attacks.
2. After it hits a character three times, it'll grow bigger and start using Fira.
3. When it grows a second time, it'll step up to Firaga.
4. If it grows a third time – and trust me, you don't want this – it'll start casting Ultima. That's the one to really watch out for.
5. Here's the key: Counterattacks don't make it grow! This is your best friend in this fight.
6. Preparation is key: Equip armor with the 'Fire Eater' ability on all three of your characters. For weapons, aim for 'Counterattack' or 'Magic Counter'. Since you're likely using Celestial Weapons, Tidus, Wakka, Kimahri, and Auron already have variations of counters on theirs.
7. If you have Magic Counter: Let the Bomb King grow once so it starts using Fira. Then, your magic counters will do work without triggering its growth.
8. If you have Counterattack or Evade & Counter: Just leave the boss alone and let it use its normal physical attacks. Your counters will handle the rest, and it won't grow.
