Grendel

Stats / Weaknesses:

• HP: 9,500
• Overkill HP: 6,972
• AP: 2,600
• Weak: Nothing
• Strong: Fire (Halves damage)

Item Drops:

• Common Drop: Ability Sphere
• Rare Drop: Ability Sphere (x2)
• Common Steal: Hi-Potion
• Rare Steal: Mega-Potion

Phases:

1. The Grendel always starts by using Charge.
2. Followed by Flame Ball, an attack that hits the entire party.
3. It repeats Charge -> Flame Ball twice.
4. After the second Flame Ball, it will either use a Normal attack or Gore, then Charge -> Flame Ball.

Strategy:

• Grendel is an armored fiend, so weapons with the Piercing ability are recommended for physical attacks.
• It has low magic defense, making magic a viable option.
• Avoid using Fire magic, as it only deals half damage.
• Yuna can use NulBlaze to nullify the damage from Flame Ball.
• Be prepared for its Charge and Flame Ball combination, which it uses frequently.
