Navigate Part 83 and Special 5-3 of Super Mario Land, including Pole 'n' Chains, Cosmic Clones, and Star Coin locations.
Walkthrough
- 1In Part 83, stay alert for Pole 'n' Chains and Cosmic Clones. Time your jumps to avoid spikes as they retract.
- 2Star Coin Alert! #3: Run to the Star Coin on the spikeboard and jump to grab it. Jump to the next platform before the spikes reappear, timing your jump to avoid the Pole 'n' Chain.
- 3Continue jumping over Pole 'n' Chains. Wait for the next spikeboard's spikes to retract.
- 4Jump onto the spikeboard and then to the other side, navigating around the Cosmic Clone and Pole 'n' Chain.
- 5Jump over the last pole to the platform at the end. The Cosmic Clone will disappear. Collect coins behind the stairs if desired.
- 6Enter the door at the top of the stairs.
- 7Jump onto the first seesaw platform; the Cosmic Clone will follow.
- 8Jump to the next seesaw platform and wait on the left side. Do not worry about the Cosmic Clone as it cannot damage you yet.
- 9When the Spiked Pole rolls towards you, jump over it with momentum and jump off the right edge before it drops too far.
- 10Land on top of the Goal Pole for a 1-Up.
- 11Course Clear!
- 12In Special 5-3, move onto the Switchboard and move it right. Grab the three coins above you and continue.
- 13Star Coin Alert! #1: To get this Star Coin, move to the right side of the geyser when it's not shooting and stop at the edge of the rail above and to the left of the geyser. If you fall off the end, you will lose your chance to get the Star Coin without restarting the level. When the geyser spouts, move full speed to the left to be pushed onto the rail. If you did not stop close enough to the edge, you won't have enough momentum to reach the rail. Once on the rail, move left. Hit the ? Block for a coin and jump onto it. Jump up and grab the Star Coin. Drop back onto the Switchboard and roll off the right edge of the rail.
- 14Roll off the edge of the rail with the geyser and onto the hidden rail below. Roll to the end, collecting coins.
- 15Hit the ? Block for a 1-Up (it moves right). Hit the Warp Box.
- 16You will warp to another Switchboard. Move right, jump over or stomp the Paragoombas. Hit the ? Block near the end for a Statue Leaf and be careful not to roll off. Jump to the next Switchboard.
- 17Move right. Jump over the first Jet Engine as the Switchboard rolls past it. You can do the same for the double Jet Engines or wait for them to stop firing. Wait for the two lots of three-high Jet Engines before continuing.
- 18Hit the ? Block after the Jet Engines multiple times for coins, but do not fall off the Switchboard. Dodge or stomp the next two Paragoombas.
- 19Star Coin Alert! #2: Time your movement past the two flying Paragoombas below and jump up to grab the Star Coin as you move past.
- 20The ? Block at the end of the rail contains only a Poison Mushroom, so skip it. Jump to the next Switchboard.
- 21Move north-east and get shot into the air by the geyser onto a rail above. Follow the rail, timing your run through the Jet Engines so you move past one just after it stops.
- 22Hit the ? Block at the end of the rail multiple times for coins if desired, then drop off the end of the rail to the one below.
- 23Star Coin Alert! #3: As you drop, you can jump onto the Donut Blocks to collect the coins leading there, or drop to the rail below and then jump onto the Donut Blocks. Skip the first block so you have something to jump to when coming back. Jump to the second block, then to the final block with the Star Coin above it and grab it. Move back to the block before that.
