Walkthrough
- 1Star Coin Alert! #3: Hit the ! Button to the north-west. Follow it around until you're running south-west. Instead of turning the next corner, take a running jump off of the south-west edge of the green panel at the end. You'll fall to a platform below that contains the final Star Coin for the level. Grab it and jump back down to the main platform.
- 2Repeat the process to get to the top of the temporary structure, but instead of hitting the north-west ! Button take a running jump to the north-east, onto the ! Button there. A short path will form to the Warp Box. Run over and hit it.
- 3You'll appear in the final area. Step on the ! Button on the ground. This can be a pain to time. As soon as you step on it, run north, wait for the panel above the button to appear and jump onto it. You now need to time your jump so that you jump up just as the before the final panel appears. You'll fall and land onto it. If you don't manage it, let the panels disappear and try again.
- 4When you manage to get up onto the final panel, jump up onto the ! Button suspended in mid-air. Run along the path that appears and take a running jump off the north edge and onto the top of the Goal Pole to collect a 1-Up!
- 5Special 2-Airship: Move south and collect the Super Mushroom that was hidden off-screen. Move north and hit the left ? Block multiple times for coins. Don't hit the right ? Block - it contains a Poison Mushroom. Wait for the spikeboard's spikes to disappear then run north across it. Stomp the Bob-Omb and continue on.
- 6Cut the corner and jump directly onto the first Donut Block. Wait for the spikes in the next spikeboard to retract then run across and stomp the next Bob-Omb. Wait for the spikeboard's spikes to retract to your left then jump over and run north. Jump onto the platform to your left at the end for an extra coins. Wait for the spikes to retract again then jump right and right once again, onto the spikeboard with a ? Block above it. Hit it multiple times for coins, but as soon as the spikes begin to poke out slightly as a warning jump up to the next platform.
- 7Stay to the left of this platform as giant Bullet Bills are flying past. Wait for one to fly past then quickly move to the right side of the platform. Move north up to the spiked pole. Wait for the next Bullet Bill to fly past then quickly run to the left side of the platform. Run north to the next spiked pole. Wait for the next Bullet Bill to fly past then run north-east between the final two spiked poles. Wait on the right side of the platform for the spikeboard's spikes to retract to your right. When they do, jump up onto it and to the platform beyond.
- 8Run through the red ring. Spiked Balls will get shot from a turret at you while on this platform. Grab the red coins that appear, jumping over the Spiked Balls as needed. Collect the 1-Up (or Statue Leaf if you're normal/small Mario) when you've collected all of the red coins and continue on.
- 9Up ahead is a spikeboard facing horizontally. Jump diagonally up onto the platform above it to avoid it. Jump over the Spiked Balls being fired at you here as needed. Jump up onto the first turret so that you can't be hit by the Spiked Balls.
- 10Star Coin Alert! #1: Drop down when safe and jump onto the turret to your north. The first Star Coin is above the turret. Try and get a small run up on the turret to increase the height of your jump so that you can reach the Star Coin. Grab it and continue up the steps to your right.
- 11Hit the Checkpoint Flag on the large platform and continue right. Up ahead is a Green Shell with three Bob-Ombs. For a 1-Up, hit the Green Shell directly north along the path so that it hits all three Bob-Ombs and the two closest to you on the way back. Jump over it as it slides underneath you. Wait for the three Bob-Ombs to blow up then run north along the path. Don't worry about breaking the brick blocks as they don't contain anything. Jump up the Donut Blocks situated along the left side of the platform and up to the platform above.
- 12Star Coin Alert! #2: There is a huge Bullet Bill turret up here, with the second Star Coin sitting neatly on a small flying platform in front of it. You can either run straight over and jump onto the platform, grab the coin, jump back and run right, narrowly dodging the huge Bullet Bill. Alternatively, you can run to the end of the platform then move right first, allow the huge Bullet Bill to fly past then jump onto the platform and collect the Star Coin. It's your choice. Once done, continue right.
- 13Wait for the first spikeboard's spikes to lower then run across both the first set of spikeboards. Stop just before the second set. Just before the Bullet Bill flying at you is about to hit you, jump over the second set of spikeboards. Just before you land the spikes will retract.
Tips
- The timing for the ! Button sequence in the final area can be tricky; don't be afraid to retry.
- When facing the giant Bullet Bills, use the platforms and spiked poles for cover.
- For Star Coin #2, observe the Bullet Bill's pattern before attempting to grab the coin.
