Part 77

Detailed walkthrough for Part 77 of Super Mario Land, including strategies for defeating enemies, collecting Star Coins, and reaching the Goal Pole.

Walkthrough: Special 4-3

1. Run right and drop to the wooden bridge. A Flophopper will approach. Wait for its vulnerable yellow side to face up, then stomp it. The first pair of brick blocks contain nothing. The right block of the second pair contains a Statue Leaf. Defeat the second Flophopper using the same technique.
2. Let two Bullet Bills fly overhead and jump to the grassy platform, then to the next bridge. Ensure the Flophopper is moving away from you. As you land, Bullet Bills and Tanooki Bills will fly periodically in pairs. Wait for a gap and stomp the first Flophopper, or jump over it.
3. Repeat the process for the second Flophopper. Move right and jump up to the next platform. Wait for a gap in the Bills, jump up, and run onto the grassy platform. Defeat the Flophopper there.
4. Move right to a waterfall. Walk through the center of the waterfall to find a Star Coin. Grab it and run back out.
5. Run to the right edge of the grassy platform and take a running jump off the south edge, through a ring, onto a wooden platform. Time your jump to avoid Bullet Bills. Jumping through the ring makes red coins appear. Collect them by moving left and then back onto the grassy platform for the final red coin. Collecting all red coins within the time limit grants a Boomerang Flower.
6. Run to the end of the platform and jump onto the bridge. Wait for a gap in the Bullet Bills and jump to the next platform. Run right, jumping over Bullet Bills. At the end, jump north onto the next bridge. A giant Bullet Bill will fly from the left. Run along the platform and drop south onto the next one, avoiding Bullet Bills flying right to left.
7. Continue right, dodging Bullet Bills. The left and right brick blocks contain coins; the middle contains nothing. Jump onto the grassy platform at the end. Giant Bullet Bills here will not hit you if you don't jump.
8. Drop down the gap between the two platforms to find a Star Coin. Grab it and wall jump between the walls to return to the platforms.
9. Move right, hopping to the next platform when there isn't a giant Bullet Bill above. Drop south onto the bridge. Run right and jump onto the grassy platforms. Move right to avoid fireballs from Venus Fire Traps and boomerangs from a Boomerang Bro. Watch for Bullet Bills flying from the left and do not jump when they appear.
10. Follow the grassy platform around to the Venus Fire Traps. Jump over their fireballs and stomp them. Move left; the Boomerang Bro. will jump between the grassy platform north and a spot south-west of the bridge platform. Dodge its boomerangs and stomp it. Jump north onto the small grassy platform, then onto the large one. Follow it north to the bridge.
11. This Star Coin requires Boomerang Mario. Stand south-east of the Star Coin under the grassy bridge, ensuring your view is not obstructed. Throw a boomerang north-west directly at the Star Coin. As soon as the boomerang touches it, you will collect it. This may require a few attempts to aim correctly.
12. Hop up the steps and move over the bridge. Take a running jump off the left edge of the last small platform onto the Goal Pole for a 1-Up.
