Continue past the second set of spikeboards and wait for the next set to retract their spikes before proceeding.

When halfway across this set, follow the path leading south off-screen and drop to the platform below.

Move right to find Star Coin #3 sitting on a spikeboard. Wait for its spikes to retract, quickly jump onto the board, grab the Star Coin, and jump back to the platform.

Return to the main path, wait for the spikeboards to retract, and continue right.

After the third set of spikeboards, prepare for a large number of Donut Blocks with Bullet Bills flying past every few seconds.

Begin jumping across the Donut Blocks as soon as the first Bullet Bill clears them.

At the end, you'll reach a spikeboard. If its spikes are up, wait until you must jump, as they should retract before you land.

Hit the Warp Box.

After warping, run up the steps to your left.

Run out onto the piece of wood protruding from the front of the ship.

At the end, Ground Pound the fake 1-Up to reveal and collect a real 1-Up.

Return to the main part of the ship and jump up the steps, waiting on the left side of each step to avoid spikeboards.

At the final step, wait on the left side for the spikeboard to retract its spikes.

Run up and jump off the right edge of the platform to grab the top of the Goal Pole for a 1-Up.

Proceed to Special World 3-1.

Jump on the first pendulum platform and let it swing to the right.

Jump off at the top onto two Donut Blocks, grab the coins, and jump to the next pendulum platform to your right.

Jump up just before it begins moving and let it move away beneath you.

Fall to the pendulum platform below to collect three coins.

Swing to the other side and jump onto the next platform.

Run right and jump onto the next pendulum platform, grabbing coins as you go.

To get Star Coin #1, jump off the right side of this pendulum when below and to the left of it, so you jump up into the Star Coin and fall to the next pendulum.

Swing to the other side and jump onto the platform with the Checkpoint (an auto-save point you restart from on death) Flag.

Continue right and jump off the platform with coins, grabbing them as you go.

Time your jump to land on the next pendulum platform as it swings to the left.

Let it swing to the right and jump onto the rubber platform.

Bounce on the rubber platform until the pendulum above swings to the left.

Bounce up onto this pendulum.

To get Star Coin #2, let the pendulum swing to either the far left or right. When it reaches the far side, jump toward the center of the pendulum where the Star Coin is. Grab it and fall onto the ? Block.
