- 1After completing the quest Blood of Arlathan, return to The Lighthouse.
- 2Talk to Solas in your dreams during the transitional quest The Words of the Wolf.
- 3Confer with your companions to determine your next moves. Lucanis may mention business with the Crows that could lead to the Evanuris.
- 4Travel to Treviso to start the quest For the Love of Treviso.
- 5Talk to Teia and Viago in The Cantori Diamond, along with Jacobus and Governor Ivenci.
- 6Head to the Grande Market and go west to the cafe on the western edge.
- 7Enter the cafe and meet with the informant.
- 8After the informant leaves, defeat two Warband Karataar (shielded-bearing Antaam).
- 9Exit the cafe and track the informant to the Drowned District.
- 10When you reach the Drowned District, you will find The Butcher has transformed into a Reaver. Wait for The Butcher to defeat the Antaam attacking him before engaging him.
- 11Engage The Butcher (Reaver). His attacks include lunging, unblockable attacks, and a charge. Many of his attacks can be parried. He can also breathe fire, which deals moderate damage and can set you on fire.
- 12Reduce The Butcher’s health to under 25% to learn the location of the god’s ritual.
- 13Defeat The Butcher.
- 14After scenes, including a traitor reveal, talk to Teia and Viago again.
Tips
- When fighting The Butcher, dodge his unblockable attacks first, then look for opportunities to counterattack his blockable follow-up attacks.
- If The Butcher breathes fire, get to his flank to attack him unopposed while he is stationary.
- There is no incentive to join the fight against The Butcher immediately; wait for him to defeat the Antaam attacking him first.
