Navigate Dragon Age: The Veilguard's Hauntings: From Beyond quest. Learn to defeat The Lost Explorer, its attacks, weaknesses, and claim your rewards.

Alright, so you've finished up the main quest 'The Siege of Weisshaupt' and you're heading back to the Necropolis. New problems have popped up, as they always do! Talk to Myrna; she's the one who kicks off the 'Hauntings: From Beyond' quest for you.

Walkthrough
  1. 1
Starting the Quest: After finishing 'The Siege of Weisshaupt,' head back to the Necropolis. You'll find Myrna waiting for you. Chat with her, and she'll give you this quest.
  2. 2
Locate The Lost Explorer: This quest keeps you right within the Necropolis, so no long treks needed! From the central hub room where Myrna, Vorgoth, and the Mourn Watch crew hang out, head north. You'll run into The Lost Explorer pretty quickly.
  3. 3
Defeat The Lost Explorer: This guy's a skeleton rocking a big ol' two-handed axe and some kind of contraption on its shoulders. Don't let the looks fool you; it's a tough one. Here's what it throws at you:
    • Running Sweep: It'll charge you with its axe low, then do an upward swing.
  4. 4
Leaping Chop: A big overhead chop, often used if you're knocked down, but it can also just use it instead of the Running Sweep.
  5. 5
Necrosis Puddle: Watch for a red reticle on the ground – that's where it's gonna drop a nasty puddle. This can happen during other attacks, so just treat it as a hazard and keep moving.
  6. 6
Whirlwind: It spins around a few times with its axe out.
  7. 7
Axe Frenzy: A rapid series of axe chops, and it'll advance on you. Dodge this, and it might follow up with a Leaping Chop.
  8. 8
Exploit Weaknesses: Good news, though! The Lost Explorer is actually weak to necrosis damage (weird, right?) and resistant to cold. The best part? Almost all its attacks can be parried. It telegraphs its moves with some pretty long windups, so once you get the timing down, you can parry most of what it throws at you, making this fight way easier. Plus, by now, you should be able to spam your abilities for damage and those sweet invincibility frames. If you bring along companions who can heal, you can probably just out-heal the damage, Necrosis or not.
  9. 9
Loot and Complete: Once you've defeated The Lost Explorer, grab the loot from the chest it drops. My mage Rook got the Smiling Visage helmet, but you might get something else. Finally, head back and talk to Myrna to wrap up the quest.
  • 350 EXP
  • 400 gold
  • +250 Mourn Watch Strength
