Boss Fight: Death

Death, possessing a candlehop, uses primarily two attacks: conjuring three icebolts that fire in succession (the last of which splits into three projectiles) and a teleport that creates an Area of Effect (AoE) burst upon reappearance. Watch for the AoE reticle on the ground to avoid the teleport. Around 50% health, Death may create a chain of AoEs along its teleport path. Near the end of the fight, it adds a third attack: a series of AoE bursts without teleporting.

Death has barriers, armor, a full health bar, and constantly regenerates health, requiring sustained offense. While not overly fast or dynamic, its attacks hit hard, capable of killing you in two or three hits. Its regeneration can prolong the fight if your offense is insufficient. It's not a difficult fight if your stats are adequate, but it can be an endurance trial.

Tips
  • Focus sustained offense to overcome Death's health regeneration.
  • Be mindful of the delayed final icebolt and its triple projectile spread.
  • Quickly evade the AoE reticles on the ground to avoid teleport damage.
  • Adapt to Death's new AoE attack patterns as its health depletes.
  • Upon defeating Death: 350 EXP and a chest containing gear (e.g., Watcher’s Hold belt).
  • Return to Myrna after defeating Death: Deathrattle (unique medium helm), 500 gold, and +250 Mourn Watch Strength.
