Follow this walkthrough for Dragon Age: The Veilguard to stop the dragon Corius the Icetalon from destroying Treviso, including boss fight strategies and attack patterns.

Walkthrough
  1. 1
After completing 'A Warden's Best Friend', you'll have a chat with allies and be informed of simultaneous dragon attacks on Treviso and Minrathous.
  2. 2
You must choose which city to personally intervene in. Choosing Treviso begins this quest, 'On Deadly Wings'. Choosing Minrathous begins 'On Blighted Wings'.
  3. 3
This choice has long-term ramifications: the neglected city's major faction (Antivan Crows in Treviso, Shadow Dragons in Minrathous) will be decimated, their merchant will die, and their faction strength cannot be boosted. The intact faction will provide assistance during major story events. Neve or Lucanis may be unavailable as companions for a few missions if their city was neglected. You cannot romance Lucanis if you do not choose Treviso.
  4. 4
If you chose Treviso, you'll travel there with a chosen companion.
  5. 5
Take a zipline northwest to a distant roof.
  6. 6
Head to the northern edge of the roof, drop down ledges (avoid crossing the beam), and jump a gap north to a balcony.
  7. 7
Enter the building, go downstairs, defeat two Antaam, and exit west through two doors to a courtyard.
  8. 8
Reunite with Lucanis, who will join the party.
  9. 9
Pass through a gate to confront the dragon laying waste to Treviso.
  10. 10
Fight through some Antaam en route to the dragon.

Boss: Corius the Icetalon

This is your first dragon fight, and you may not feel adequately prepared. Remember that none of a dragon's attacks can be blocked or parried, so dodging is essential.

Attacks:

  • Bite: A fast lunging bite with a deceptively quick execution. Dodge carefully.
  • Swat: Used when you are at the dragon's flank. It's either a backhanded swipe or an uppercut-like attack. Sneak in only one or two attacks before dodging away.
  • Charge: The dragon charges at you. Dodge out of the way. Rely on invincibility frames (iframes) by dodging when it's close.
  • Tail Lash: Performed when you are behind the dragon. It lifts its rump and looks behind. Dodge away from the dragon; the attack is less ranged than expected.
  • Diving Flop: The dragon flies up and swoops down, performing a belly flop. Dodge to the side to utilize iframes.
  • Drop Slam: The dragon flies up, hovers, then slams down, dealing heavy area damage. An AoE reticle indicates the impact zone, but you'll need to dodge early as it's often too late to escape by the time the reticle appears.
