The Last Gambit Choices

The Last Gambit Quest Start: This quest automatically begins after "A Cage of Gods." You'll return to The Lighthouse, have a chance to speak with your team, and then head to the table to make preparations. Your choices here are locked in, and you cannot improve relationships beforehand.

Objective: Send someone adept at magic or strong at protecting others to help the Veil Jumpers against the Wards.

Recommended: A Mage or Warrior. The guide suggests sending Taash as a Warrior, noting the usefulness of having Mages available for healing, especially after losing one in the previous quest.

Objective: Send someone to deal with the Venatori Mage controlling the barrier.

Recommended: Lucanis is the primary recommendation due to his suitability for the role. If Lucanis lacks Hero of the Veilguard status, consider Neve if she meets the criteria.

Objective: Send a strong physical fighter to assist the Grey Wardens and Mourn Watch against the massive Construct.

Recommended: Taash, Davrin, or Harding are suggested. Any of these physical fighters should succeed if they have Hero of the Veilguard status.

Consequences: After making these three choices, you will see them play out before you take control of Rook. Failing to raise Allied Strength or achieve Hero of the Veilguard status can result in permanent companion deaths, impacting the best ending and your team composition for the final encounters.
